The cut specimen showed mixed tissues including cystic cavities containing orange oily fluid, and a well formed lower extremity. There were multiple well differentiated tissues present. Endodermal tissue included salivary gland, pancreas, stomach, small and large intestine, lung and respiratory tract and thyroid. Mesodermal tissue included bone, bone marrow, cartilage, fat, skeletal muscle, lymphoid tissue, myocardium and lower extremity. Neuroectodermal tissue included skin, ganglia, neural tissue and glial tissue. The deep surgical margin adjacent to the coccyx was positive.
