A 48-year-old man presented with left upper quadrant pain. Abdominal CT showed a large splenic cyst. The patient could recall no instance of significant abdominal trauma.
The patient was taken to the operating room for laparoscopic unroofing of the cyst. The right lateral decubitus position with beanbag stabilization is shown. The table was broken at the waist and the kidney rest was elevated.
