The patient was given 5,000 units of heparin. The ACT was maintained at approximately two times the baseline level. The patient’s blood pressure had been running high, so the anesthesiologist titrated it to a level between 110 and 120 systolic to prevent the aortic clamp from being dislodged. Five minutes after the administration of Heparin, the Satinsky clamp was closed.
