The patient is positioned on the table as illustrated. All pressure points are protected with padding. A circumferential prep from the nipples down is used – this permits great ease in going from the abdominal to the anal dissection during the case. Passing the child through the rubberized opening of an extremity drape is most effective. This opening may need to be enlarged in an older child.
