Grade III Splenic Trauma: Non-Operative: 1

A 15-year-old boy presented to the emergency room with left flank pain after sustaining a blow during a wrestling match. His blood pressure was normal without change on tilt, his abdomen was benign to palpation and his hematocrit was 34. Because he was hemodynamically stable, he was sent for CT scan. There was a laceration through the anterior third of the spleen.
