A 37-year-old man underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy for chronic cholecystitis. A thickening was noted at the fundus of the gallbladder and there was extensive inflammation. The procedure was converted to open and the cholecystectomy was completed. Final pathology showed adenocarcinoma infiltrating the wall of the gallbladder to but not through serosa (T2). There was tumor up to the cystic duct stump.
