The second biopsy was taken from the external margin of the tumor at the junction of the ulcerated tumor bed and normal skin.

Oxycellulose was placed on the biopsy sites for hemostasis. The pathology showed recurrence of anal carcinoma. The patient was presented at tumor board and the options of salvage chemoradiation  and abdominoperineal resection (see VID 203) were recommended.
