The bulldog was removed from the renal vein and the proximal arterial clamp was removed. The distal arterial clamp was left on temporarily to maximize the renal perfusion. The kidney showed uniform healthy perfusion.

The end of the ureter was brought down toward the bladder. The vas deferens was retracted laterally with a Penrose drain.
