A femoral defect can be closed at its upper end by the transition stitch of a McVay repair, or at its lower end by stitches between inguinal ligament/iliopubic tract and pectineus fascia (see hernia technique master class, frame 80.) The latter does not disrupt normal inguinal floor anatomy.
