In a significant number of individuals the right hepatic artery bows toward the infundibulum, a “caterpillar-hump” right hepatic. It can be mistaken for the cystic artery, especially if it is small caliber. Tracing such a vessel clearly onto the gallbladder without continuation up to the liver is necessary to proceed safely.
