The proximal anastomosis was completed with running 5-0 monofilament vascular suture. Prior to tying the suture, the graft was flushed retrograde to evacuate air.

The proximal clamp was removed, thrombin-soaked gelfoam was placed around the anastomoses and the wounds were closed.
