Serial expansions continued and the patient was scheduled for final removal of tissue expanders and closure of scalp defect. After removal of tissue expanders, bilateral capsulotomies were performed.

The 6 x 16 cm skin graft was completely excised and the scalp was reapproximated successfully. A 15-French drain was left in place. Patient was discharged from the hospital on the next day.

When the patient came to the clinic for post-operative follow up, a well-healing scar was noted and the drain was removed. Patient had no complaints and mother reports that he is thriving in school.
