At laparotomy, control of the proximal aorta was obtained at the hiatus above the celiac trunk. The pseudocyst was opened through the posterior wall of the stomach, and the eroded splenic artery was oversewn. A wide cyst-gastrostomy was made excising a portion of the common wall, and oversewing the edges with a large, locking, non-absorbable suture. The patient recovered.
