Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy: 1

The monitors for laparoscopic cholecystectomy are placed at the patient's shoulders. The table is set up so that the C-arm can be positioned for cholangiography. The right arm is left out so that there is room to place a port in the right anterior axillary line. The patient voids just before surgery and a Foley catheter is not necessary for routine cases. An orogastric tube is placed and aspirated to decompress the stomach after the patient is intubated.
