Typical faceted cholesterol stones are seen in this gallbladder. A bulky load of stones can make extraction difficult. In addition to enlarging the fascial opening, the delivered neck of the gallbladder can be opened and the stones crushed and extracted with a ring clamp. A small, flaccid gallbladder can be removed easily with or without a plastic bag device. Ports are removed under direct vision and all gas is allowed to escape. The 10mm port sites are closed at the fascial level with 2-0 absorbable suture. The orogastric tube is removed prior to extubation.
