After trephination to 90% depth, the anterior chamber is entered using a 15 degree super blade. Note the thickness and opacity of the excised corneal tissue. Note also bleeding from the cut corneal vessels at the 11 o'clock meridian.

After the anterior chamber is entered, a viscoelastic is injected to re-deepen the chamber. Care should be taken not to over-inflate the eye and prolapse iris from the wound.
