The lesser sac was entered by opening the gastrocolic omentum below the gastroepiploic arcade. The underside of the stomach is seen above, the body of the pancreas and transverse mesocolon center and right. The right gastroepiploic artery is encircled with umbilical tape where it originates from the gastroduodenal. The other branch of the gastroduodenal, the anterior superior pancreaticoduodenal artery is seen on the head of the pancreas. The neck and body of the pancreas appeared free of disease and there was no celiac or superior mesenteric adenopathy.

The arterial supply to the pancreas is shown. The head is supplied by the pancreatoduodenal arcades connecting the hepatic artery above with the superior mesenteric artery below. The tail is supplied by branches of the splenic artery.
