The lateral chest shows the pneumomediastinum and pneumopericardium along with a small rim of air beneath the diaphragm. The contrast enhanced chest CT and gastrografin swallow revealed no esophageal perforation or other pathology. The subcutaneous emphysema resolved within hours and the patient was discharged to home.
