The ovaries and tubes receive a dual blood supply, from the uterine arteries below, and from the ovarian vessels in the infundibulopelvic ligaments above.

The infundibulopelvic ligament on each side was ligated and divided as the last step in the bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy.

The middle rectal artery on each side is a branch of the internal iliac. It lies between the pelvic peritoneum and the levator ani and runs to the lateral wall of the rectum just above the puborectalis.
