Follicular Thyroid Cancer: 1

A 38-year-old man was noted to have a right thyroid nodule on routine physical examination. He was euthyroid and asymptomatic. Fine needle aspiration was reported as consistent with follicular neoplasm. The patient was taken to the operating room for total thyroidectomy.

Skin flaps were developed in the sub-platysma plane to the top of the thyroid cartilage above and to the sternal notch below (see neck anatomy).
