A 70-year-old woman who had had a left thyroid lobectomy for benign disease presented with an enlarging right thyroid mass.

There was decreased uptake in the area of the mass. Fine needle aspiration showed atypical follicular cells with Hurthle cell change. A diagnosis of follicular neoplasm of Hurthle cell type was favored.
