Perinatal Hydronephrosis: 1

At four months gestation, a male fetus was diagnosed with left hydronephrosis on routine ultrasound examination. Postnatal urological workup showed a low urethral stricture with a minimally functioning, hydronephrotic left kidney and tortuous, dilated ureter. The ureter was compressing the bladder, causing partial right ureteral compression and there was evidence of early right hydronephrosis as a result.
