A test head was again used to check fit. The pin locator was again used with the obturator and trochanteric landmarks to make sure there was no shortening of the limb.

An example of the permanent ball and stem are shown. The neck of the ball can be chosen an appropriate length to compensate for shortening of the limb. None was necessary in this case.
