Three non-absorbable mattress sutures are placed in the inferior capsular edge and brought through the superior edge at a distance that will tighten the capsule appropriately.
The inferior sutures are tied and two or three sutures are used to secure the superior flap. The subscapularis, subcutaneous tissue and skin are closed with absorbable sutures. Additional long acting local anesthesia is infiltrated. Range of motion is assessed and the shoulder is placed in an immobilizer.
