One-Handed Surgical Knot: 1

A D V E R T I S E M E N T

As with the two hand tie, the disposition of the two strands determines which of the two throws is done first. In the illustration the non-working end (yellow) held by the left hand has started away from the operator.  The right hand does most of the work and its grasp on the working strand is different for each throw. The grip for this orientation is palm up, three fingers within the loop, thumb and index pinching the strand. The non-working end is brought across the middle finger of the right hand forming a loose loop.
