Retroperitoneal Liposarcoma: 47

A D V E R T I S E M E N T

This myxoid spindle cell neoplasm was 1350 gm and 15.0 cm in diameter. Grossly, the tumor was covered by smooth, mobile, areolar-like connective tissue. On cut surface, the tumor had various regions of bright yellow fat, firm gray connective tissue, and hemorrhage. Histologically, the tumor most closely resembles a spindle cell lipoma, but based on its' size, location, and the patient's age (65), it is probably best considered a low grade liposarcoma.
