The neck mass (see differential diagnosis of neck masses) is shown. The hilar location of the chest nodule and the inherent risks of percutaneous biopsy of the pancreas made the thyroid the logical choice to obtain a tissue diagnosis and to prevent the intravenous tumor from embolizing.
