Lower GI Bleed from Cecal Carcinoma: 4

A right hemicolectomy was performed, taking the ileocolic and right colic vessels (see lower GI bleed ) proximal to the palpable enlarged mesenteric nodes. A smaller central node was sent for frozen section and was negative for tumor. The opened cecum is shown with the large tumor impinging on the lower edge of the iliocecal valve (top).
