In the medial corner of the eye is the lacrimal caruncle which secretes a whitish substance. Just medial to it is the semilunar fold of conjunctiva. The orifices of the lacrimal canaliculi lie near the medial end of the eyelids. A tiny row of openings of the Meibomian glands march along the border of upper and lower lid, and the lashes or cilia grow from the outer lips of the lids.
