With the hernia reduced, the iliopubic tract was visualized deep to the shelving edge of inguinal ligament.

To keep the bulge out of the way during the planned tension free (Lichtenstein) mesh repair, the floor was imbricated, suturing the falx (transverses aponeurotic arch) down to iliopubic tract and inguinal ligament (modified Bassini repair).
