Seldinger Technique (Internal Jugular Vein): 1

The internal jugular vein lies beneath the sternocleidomastoid. It can be approached from the anterior or posterior border of the muscle, or between the sternal and clavicular heads of the muscle. At the level of the hyoid bone, the vein lies posterolateral to the common carotid artery.
