The patient was taken to the operating room for laparoscopic resection of the lesion. The port locations are shown: #1, 10/12 mm camera port; #2, 5 mm epigastric port;#3, 10 mm left pararectus port;#4, 10/12 mm left flank port. An ergonomic trochar site strategy utilizing a 30-degree off-center optical vector, ergonomic triangulation, and a planned transverse abdominal incision for specimen retrieval, led to the port site template.

Exploration (diagnostic laparoscopy) was performed first. The bulge of the tumor could be seen on entering the abdomen with a Hasson umbilical port camera. The natural location of the stomach is draped over the lesion in the tail of the pancreas. Apart from this mass effect, there was no other abnormality noted.
