The femoral triangle is bounded by inguinal ligament, sartorius and the adductor longus. The floor of the triangle is the pectineus muscle. The femoral vessels, enclosed in femoral sheath (see anterior inguinal anatomy), traverse the triangle from the mid-point of the inguinal ligament to the inferior apex where the superficial femoral vessels enter the adductor (Hunters) canal beneath the sartorius.
