The histology was consistent with parathyroid adenoma, although there was no rim of normal parathyroid tissue for definitive diagnosis. The 15-minute post-excision assay was 17.2 pg/cc.

A high-power view of the parathyroid tissue is shown. The final pathology came back consistent with parathyroid adenoma. At 8 days post-op the patient reported no bone pain or cramps.
